READ CLOSELY -- WE'VE MADE CHANGES
Join us every Wednesday night at The Bank and Blues Club as the Daytona Blues Society hosts a “True Blues Open Jam", for musicians to show their talent. The "On Stage Etiquette" section below is a 'must read' for all Blues Musicians. .
Doors open at 8PM, Music starts 8:30PM
The "True Blues Open Jam" is structured as follows:
8:30pm- House Band Kicks off the night and set's the pace.....Shortly after, musicians are invited up per the Sign In Sheet. Jam Run's as late as there are people to play.
*if you'd like to be in the house band rotation your membership must be current, contact Jeff Fedora @ jefffedora@aol.com or 386-212-9261
Each Jammer can expect to play roughly 3 songs (or one long song-- apply common sense and courtesy here)...
Later in the evening muscians can return to the stage once the list has been accomodated.
Special request groupings of musicians or band slots will be considered and should be brought up with the evenings Jam MC early on in the night. Decisions are to the MC's discretion. His focus is providing flow and solid entertainment for the fans who have come to "listen". His job is NOT catering to the individual ego's of musicians.
Cover $3 non-members $2 members (free after 11:30pm). EVERY BODY PAYS. If you sneak in the back door and don't pay because your are a local musician and ENTITLED to something because in your mind you're bigger than Jesus-- we wont break your arms-- we'll just take note of what a cheap-ass you are and tilt our nose at your lack of interest in improving your community. Self Centerdness is cool. It's just lonely as hell.
DBS 'Jammers' On Stage Etiquette
1) Sign in with stage manager upon arrival. Yes, all musicians pay the cover, except the Host Band for that evening.
Jamming musicians rotate sets on the stage. Usually first come, first play is the rule-- unless individuals are being pared to accomodate a request.
We have an assigned stage manager (thankless job) each week to ensure that the jams run smoothly.
2) Our top requirement is that you play BLUES! Or at least keep one leg in it.
3) There will be a "Jam Leader" - find out who's in charge when you get on stage. That's means you are a jammer, not a leader. We like to play follow the leader.
If you want to be a leader, become a member and come show us you can play the blues, AND play well with others.
Drums, amps, and mics are provided by DBS.
We do have some set jam conduct rules as follows:
* Nobody like a complainer
*The manager’s decision is final.
